Bitcoin (BTC) showed high volatility, trading for below $82,000 before rising again to fluctuate between $83,000 to $87,000. However, the BTC is still experiencing pressure eventually, due to the instability in the cryptos’ market. The high volatility saw several large volume liquidations for longs and shorts for most digital assets.

Bitcoin’s Short-Term Bounce

While explaining this issue, Michael van de Poppe, a popular market analyst, wrote on X. He pointed out that Bitcoin has now formed its support at the $85.3K level and based on his findings, he expects the probability of this level to hold as the low for the market to be rather high. He also stated that Bitcoin will bounce back in the short run, and since the altcoins are expected to bring more value to the comprehensive ecosystem by the end of 2025.

This news has brought about a significant number of liquidations due to the recent drop of Bitcoin’s price. According to Coinglass data, $467.22 of longs and $78.37 of shorts were liquidated during the fall. Over 185,700 traders were liquidated contributing to listed volatility. The liquidation value was as high as $467.22 million, which can be deemed as some of the market’s most challenging times.

Altcoins Set to Outperform Bitcoin

Pundits highlighted that this sort of price swings is particularly characteristic of the location and that the probability of attaining a bottom is high. It brings into focus that the current status offers an ideal situation for investment, especially given the higher volatility of altcoins. For the rest of 2025, he believes that altcoins will perform better than Bitcoin, thus making investment in the altcoins worth it.
