Gemini has set a new Guinness world record by creating the largest aerial formation of a Bitcoin symbol in the world. The crypto exchange performed the brilliant drone show on March 13 at SXSW in Austin, Texas wherein 1000 drones spelled out the symbol of Bitcoin. This event was to mark the effectiveness of a reserve in Bitcoins after the signing of an executive order by President Donald Trump.
Bitcoin Symbol Takes Flight
The 20-minute show involved various formations of the drones. It was shown by Sky Elements, a firm from Fort Worth that deals with drone display and has previous record of setting such records. Apart from the Bitcoin symbol, the drones portrayed a spaceship taking off into space, an astronaut planting the American flag in Mars, and a colossal Woolly Mammoth. Thus, the visuals drew the attention of the spectators and outlined the role of Bitcoin in the field of innovation and progressive economical models.
In addition to the tribute to Bitcoin, the woolly mammoth depicted by multimedia artist Matt Griffin had a meaning of the creator not wiping away. It alluded to Gemini’s previous stake in Colossal Biosciences which is into the business of bringing back extinct animals through cloning technology. Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, the people behind Gemini, invested $15m in the funding of the company before. This tie-up pointed to other areas of interest that Gemini has beyond cryptocurrency, or rather, groundbreaking technologies.
Crypto Confidence on Display
However, it was when Gemini shared the photograph of the Bitcoin drone show on March 14 through its official social media page that the event went viral. Another stringer illustration included a photo of the certificate of the Guinness World Record with the title, “Proof of Record.” As indicated in the certificate, the milestone recorded the biggest formation of a currency symbol by Drones.
The drone show also included the slogan of differentiating Gemini from Swarm, as the company started implementing during its advertising campaign in November of the previous year. This message aspired to create confidence in Bitcoin as another form of investment after the publishing of the Bitcoin reserve.
This achievement took place barely a week after the first White House Crypto Summit that was placed on 7th March. At the end of the summit, Trump signed another executive order to form a new national Bitcoin reserve. The reserve will most likely be the Bitcoin that is already have by the U.S. government, which is currently to be approximately two hundred thousand BTC.
