Bitget, a prominent global cryptocurrency exchange, announces its official partnership with UNICEF as the expansive Game Jam hackathon is set in motion. This will be a virtual event lasting 40 days, including participants aged less than 21 years in eight countries: Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, and South Africa. The aim is to empower the youths in developing original video games.
The partnership is included in Bitget’s cooperation with the Game Changers Coalition at UNICEF. This program aims to impart digital skills and promote entrepreneurship, especially among girls in emerging markets. Bitget seeks to equip these youngsters with tools and resources to succeed in the digital economy.
Bitget’s Vision to Empower Youth Through Blockchain Education
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said that the company is committed to educating youth. According to her, blockchain technology will enable youth to become entrepreneurs and innovators. We aim to make the online community more diverse and empower the future cohort of leaders, particularly females, said Gracy Chen.
Along with sponsoring the hackathon, Bitget’s educational branch, Bitget Academy, is developing UNICEF’s first-ever interactive blockchain training module. The course will discuss the blockchain basics, such as smart contract integration, tokenization, and decentralized gameplay. It will enroll a maximum of 300,000 adolescents, mentors, and teachers in the eight countries.

This effort is supported through the Bitget Blockchain4Her program, a tool to empower women in the blockchain industry. Bitget is also increasing its partnerships with universities through the Lady Forward campaign, internships, and the Female Leaders Program. These projects connect women throughout the blockchain and promote more women’s engagement.

Blockchain4Her Empowers 11 Women-Led Startups
Since January 2024, Blockchain4Her has provided 11 women-led startups with the Pitch n’ Slay competition. The program has also empowered more than 300,000 people across the world particularly with the partnership of UNICEF game changers coalition.
In May 2023, Bitget also introduced its own program, the Blockchain4Youth, aimed at providing students with digital and entrepreneurial skills. This project provides classes, hackathons, and mentorship to enable young people to acquire the skills that will see them make it in a digital world.
Bitget is contributing to reducing the digital skills gap. Bitget is educating the youth on blockchain in the emerging markets and by doing so, it is creating the future customers and innovators in the area of digital technologies.
