Crossover Markets announced a $31 million Series B funding round. Tradeweb Markets led the investment, valuing the execution-only crypto platform CROSSx at roughly $200 million. Other participants include DRW Venture Capital, Ripple, Virtu Financial, Wintermute Ventures, XTX Markets, and Illuminate Financial.

CROSSx is one of the first execution-only cryptocurrency electronic communication networks. It allows institutional investors to trade digital assets anonymously and efficiently. The platform focuses on execution without bundling additional services. This design helps eliminate conflicts of interest and mirrors the standards of traditional financial markets.

Tradeweb to Integrate Crossover CROSSx for Global Crypto Trading

Tradeweb plans to incorporate CROSSx into its global organization. The company’s algorithmic trading technology will connect institutional clients’ spot crypto orders to Crossover’s liquidity pools. The anonymous and disclosed liquidity pools have been created to provide execution results that exceed traditional central order books.

The partnership is part of Tradeweb’s global vision to transform traditional market structures. This represents the extension of electronic trading standards to digital products. The partnership offers liquidity, transparency, and structured execution, responding to the increasing need for institutional crypto infrastructure.

CROSSx has already achieved order matching in single-digit microseconds. The platform has supported over $50 billion in notional trading volume, completing 12 million trades since its inception. The platform has close to 100 participants actively using its services. The high-speed, low-latency execution makes CROSSx one of the premier destinations for professional crypto traders.

Bridging Traditional and Digital Markets

The funds raised in the Series B round will be used to enhance technology, expand operations globally, and build deeper relationships with institutional clients. The investment by conventional finance players like Virtu Financial and DRW Venture Capital underscores the rise of conventional finance players in crypto market infrastructure.

The importance of separation of duties in market structure is underscored by Crossover Markets. The company’s focus on execution enables institutions to trade without conflicts inherent in other digital asset trading venues. With the support of global partners, CROSSx aims to become the go-to destination for institutions to trade digital assets.

The adoption of the platform underscores the increasing synergy between traditional finance and crypto. As institutions require high-quality liquidity, fast execution, and robust infrastructure, partnerships like this set the stage for what the next generation of digital asset markets should look like.
