Ethereum Expands Privacy Research with New Cluster
Long-term funding of privacy research by the Ethereum Foundation traces back to 2018. Its secluded Privacy and Scaling Explorations (PSE) team has produced more than 50 open-source projects.
These encompass Semaphore for anonymous notification, MACI for secret voting, and zkEmail for privacy-friendly communication. The Foundation is now scaling these efforts into a collective Privacy Cluster. It consolidates 47 top researchers, cryptographers, and engineers.
It also features such initiatives as Private Reads & Writes for stealth transactions, Private Proving for secure verification, and Kohaku, a new wallet that simplifies advanced cryptography for privacy preservation.
The Institutional Privacy Task Force bridges the technology of Ethereum with business applications, bringing privacy principles to life as practical standards. Both of these groups touch all layers, from cryptographic development to application architecture, so that privacy becomes an Ethereum built-in feature.
