According to the interview, ETHpanda continues to shape conversations around Ethereum by focusing on builders and long-term vision. The ETHpanda Talk podcast serves as a platform for open discussion about progress, challenges, and future goals on Ethereum.
It aims to inspire more people to join and actively contribute to the ecosystem. Bruce, a co-initiator of ETHpanda, opened the discussion by explaining the purpose of the podcast. ETHpanda Talk centers on building a better digital future on ETH.
The show invites leading builders to explain why they joined ETH, what they work on, and what lessons they learned along the way. The format focuses on personal stories and practical insight. ETHpanda wants to spark curiosity and encourage wider participation.
Tomasz Explores Protocols and AI on Ethereum
This podcast includes the introduction of a guest speaker named Tomasz, which was conducted in Shanghai. Among the issues raised are those related to personal growth and work with the Ethereum Foundation. Another issue is related to the development of the protocol, as well as the role of AI within Ethereum.
He joined the Ethereum Foundation in March as the co-executive director. This was after an eight-year stint building NetherMind. NetherMind is one of the main Ethereum development and infrastructure firms that he founded in 2017. Currently, NetherMind is responsible for the support of the vast majority of the Ethereum mainnet via its client software.
His reason for entering Ethereum is based on curiosity. He intends to know how Ethereum is functioning. He read the yellow paper and began to develop the implementation of various aspects of Ethereum. His personal project advanced to the level of a full client.
NetherMind has been an important element in the environment for a number of years. Before working with the Ethereum Project, Tomasz worked at a traditional financial organization. He worked at Citibank and later at a hedge fund in London. His experience with a traditional finance organization enabled him to bootstrap his own organization, which is NetherMind.
Ethereum Foundation Supports Ecosystem Coordination
He relied on his savings and technical abilities. The first phase was tiring. However, it was a way of developing discipline and concentration. The grants provided by the Ethereum Foundation assisted in developing and hiring staff.
The roles of the management team at the Ethereum Foundation are naturally divided. Tomasz does more outreach. Wang Xiaowei is in charge of internal operations, management of the treasury, forecasting, and DeFi. They jointly oversee strategy and compensation. The Foundation does not control but rather helps to facilitate coordination of the ecosystem.
Of all the objectives, user experience and interoperability are the toughest to accomplish. Scaling has clear metrics and roadmap plans. UX doesn’t. For interoperability, there needs to be a unified vision for wallets, bridges, tooling, and layer two networks. Today, a lot of bridges compromise on security for ease.
The Foundation seeks to encourage the development of systems that preserve these two properties: permissionlessness and censorship resistance. In the coming period, research on the Ethereum platform is expected to cover scaling, finality, privacy, and security. The Foundation is listening, connecting researchers, and informing research.
