According to the report, Bhutan has advanced another step toward digital independence. The country’s National Digital Identity (NDI) platform has been successfully integrated with the Ethereum blockchain. His Royal Highness Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck attended the ceremony celebrating this achievement. The event symbolised Bhutan’s ongoing journey toward digital modernisation. His Royal Highness became the country’s first digital citizen in 2023, setting a symbolic example of Bhutan’s vision for technological inclusion.
Ethereum operates through a network of computers worldwide. These computers verify and protect data, making systems built on it more reliable and resilient. This global structure strengthens Bhutan’s NDI platform, ensuring every identity transaction remains transparent, traceable, and tamper-proof.
