- Gate becomes the first centralized exchange to integrate Polymarket.
- Users can trade prediction markets for sports, finance, and crypto.
- Both beginners and advanced traders can access flexible tools and interfaces.
Gate has officially integrated Polymarket, marking a first in the centralized exchange industry. The new Polymarket feature is now in public beta. Users can trade prediction markets for global events across sports, finance, and crypto.
The system is based on a simple Yes/No Share system, where shares are bought based on the user’s expectation of the event’s outcome. Once the event is settled, shares that correctly called the event pay out a profit, providing a new avenue for traders to take advantage of trends and opportunities outside of traditional markets.
Prediction markets are becoming increasingly popular globally, with more people participating in event-driven trading to keep up with sporting events, macroeconomic events, and even crypto events. By incorporating Polymarket, Gate is able to maintain their main trading features while providing a new two-part system for traders, ranging from casual to professional traders.
Gate Supports Centralized and Web3 Trading
Gate also supports both centralized account types and Web3 wallets. Users with a Gate exchange account can log in to the app, version 8.12.5 or higher, and find Polymarket in the Alpha page. Trading occurs using USDT in the spot account.
This eliminates the requirement for on-chain operations, making it simple to use. Users with Web3 wallets can use the Polygon network to connect to the app. Trading occurs using USDC. This provides options for users accustomed to decentralized exchanges. There are two interfaces.
The prediction interface provides a clear format for beginners. The trading interface provides a derivatives trading experience with order books, price charts, and execution tools for advanced users. Prices are updated in real time. For example, a Yes share priced at 0.65 indicates a 65% market probability of the event happening. Users can hold their positions to settlement or actively trade in response to changing prices.
Gate Combines Prediction Markets with Spot Trading
Polymarket, under Gate, has various event types, including sports, crypto, finance, and featured topics. A trader can view probability charts, candlestick charts, and order books. Market, limit, and spread orders are supported.
There is also a quick trade option, enabling users to trade from the listing page. Gate provides prediction positions and spot accounts, enabling users to manage their balances, orders, and histories under one account. After events finish, winning positions are converted to stablecoins and credited to users’ spot accounts.
The combination of Polymarket and Gate’s features makes it easier to trade, as it provides both new and advanced users with the best trading experience. Additionally, the use of AI-powered translations makes it easier for the platform to attract users from all over the world.
