KuCoin Expands Globally: Launches Fully Licensed Exchange in Thailand

KuCoin has opened a fully licensed crypto exchange in Thailand, becoming the first brand in the country to offer a locally regulated platform. The KuCoin Thailand will be under the regulation of the Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission, making it the first exchange in the country to be fully licensed under the KuCoin brand. Having passed through an invite-only pilot stage, the platform is currently available to any eligible user in Thailand, allowing local traders to gain easier access to digital asset markets.

KuCoin Thailand exchange has extensive functionality. The platform will enable crypto-to-crypto trading, as well as fiat integration, allowing users to purchase and sell cryptocurrencies using Thai Baht. This integration will have on and off-ramp services of the local currency, which will allow Thai users to enter and exit the market more easily. With the provision of these services, KuCoin makes sure that the exchange allows not only experienced cryptocurrency traders but also newcomers to digital assets.

It was announced on April 23 that it will transition to KuCoin Thailand, the rebranding of the Thailand-based crypto exchange ERX Company Limited, the first SEC-regulated crypto exchange in the country. ERX formally transferred its business to KuCoin on April 22, and the rebranded exchange launched on April 23. As a part of the change, a new app, KuCoin TH, was launched that could be downloaded on both Android and iOS devices. The new app is convenient and user-friendly, allowing users to access the full range of exchange services.

KuCoin’s European Expansion Plans

Thailand is now among the vibrant crypto markets in the Southeast Asian region. Which is due to the progressive regulations and rising acceptance of digital assets. The Thailand has a number of SEC-licensed exchanges, with such prominent brands as Bitkub and Upbit. Thailand Crypto trading is going well. And interest in trading on exchanges such as KuCoin is high. Despite the recent regulations that have seen limitations on crypto payments.

KuCoin also plans to expand more into Europe. The exchange filed a MiCA license application in Austria in February 2025. The step is a constituent of the overall strategy of KuCoin to increase its presence in the world. And establish itself as a leader in the cryptocurrency sector.
