IREN Limited is expanding its presence in artificial intelligence after securing new multi-year cloud service contracts with NVIDIA. The Nasdaq-listed bitcoin miner expects its expanded AI operations to deliver nearly $500 million in annualized run-rate revenues.
The company, formerly known as Iris Energy, has been implementing NVIDIA’s Blackwell GPUs throughout its cloud computing system. It has already entered into customer contracts for 11,000 out of 23,000 GPUs that are expected to be in operation by 2025. This action underscores the fact that IREN is becoming increasingly dedicated to high-performance computing beyond cryptocurrency mining.

Blistering Growth into AI Compute Services.
IREN reports that the transition to ASIC miners to the use of GPUs in its British Columbia campuses is indicative of high technical flexibility. It is constructing its Horizon 1 and Horizon 2 data centers in Childress, Texas, to accommodate more AI workloads as well as enterprise customers.
The company chosen as NVIDIA’s preferred partner will gain better access to state-of-the-art chips. That association puts IREN in a good position to respond to the growing world need for AI computing services.
Besides its AI growth, IREN has approximately 50 exahashes/second of self-mining capacity for Bitcoin. This is what enables it to be among the largest miners in terms of operational efficiency and fleet utilization.
IREN balances between Crypto and AI development
The dual strategy combines the company’s robust energy contracts and infrastructure with the services of GPS cloud hosting. This diversification will enable IREN to maintain stable revenue while keeping pace with the dynamism in technology.
IREN is negotiating long-term deals on cloud services and access to NVIDIA hardware in advance, positioning the company for sustainable growth. These agreements will stabilize the income, and new data centers will be released.
The partnership with NVIDIA marks a significant milestone in IREN’s transformation into a global provider of AI infrastructure. The targeted investments in GPU-powered cloud computing would transform its revenue model and position it in the crypto and AI industries.
