- Ethereum Foundation and SEAL team up to disrupt wallet drainers and boost user safety.
- The new dashboard tracks 92 security controls to expose risks and guide ecosystem defenses.
- Losses from wallet drainers hit record low as coordinated takedowns weaken scam networks.
The Ethereum Foundation formed a new partnership with SEAL to strengthen user protection across the Ethereum ecosystem. The move targets wallet drainers, which have enabled large-scale thefts through phishing sites and malicious transaction signatures. Both groups will coordinate security work to disrupt these threats.
The partnership is part of the foundation’s Trillion Dollar Security (1TS) initiative. Under this agreement, the Ethereum Foundation will sponsor security engineers who will work directly with SEAL’s intelligence team. These engineers will track and dismantle infrastructure used by scammers before major attacks occur.
Drainers continue to pose a challenge for users. Attackers deploy phishing sites that mimic trusted applications. They push victims to approve harmful signatures. Once approved, the drainer script moves assets out of the wallet without further interaction.
The Security Alliance has done important work to combat attacks and the ecosystem has benefited tremendously.

Real-Time Monitoring With 1TS Dashboard
The collaboration followed internal discussions held late last year. The foundation sought a dedicated security response to identify malicious activity early. SEAL will support this effort with intelligence, analysis, and coordinated takedowns.
The partnership will also rely on the foundation’s Trillion Dollar Security dashboard. The dashboard provides real-time security insights for the Ethereum network. It tracks 92 controls across user experience, smart contracts, infrastructure and cloud, consensus protocol, monitoring, incident response, governance, and the broader social layer.

The dashboard highlights areas with weak security coverage. It also shows mitigation efforts such as updated wallet standards and improved on-chain audits. The goal is to offer transparent and measurable data to support security decisions across the ecosystem.

SEAL cited data from ScamSniffer to show the scale of the drainer economy. Wallet drainers have taken nearly $1 billion from users over several years. These results reflect the coordinated efforts behind these schemes.
Ethereum Foundation Expands Security Efforts
Losses fell sharply in 2025. The estimated value dropped to about $84 million, which marked an all-time low. SEAL credited recent progress to the removal of infrastructure linked to drainer groups.
Nonetheless, the threat is constantly changing. New and more sophisticated attacks are used by attackers. These changes prompt the need for faster detection tools and more expansive intelligence operations.
SEAL described the partnership as a model for future industry cooperation. They also mentioned that more partnerships with other significant blockchain ecosystems are in the pipeline. They encouraged other projects to consider similar sponsorships to enhance user protection.
The Ethereum Foundation sees the partnership as a necessary measure to enhance the security of the network. Both groups anticipate that the partnership will reduce future losses.
