A Decentralized Future for NFT Metadata and Media
To preserve the value and accessibility of digital assets, Nifty Gateway has disclosed that it will transfer its NFT metadata and media to Arweave, a decentralized storage provider. This will enable users to store and retrieve their NFTs forever, even after the platform’s closure. Non-Metadata NFTs made before 2021 and whose metadata is connected to Nifty Gateway’s servers will remain permanently on its infrastructure.
To the Nifty Gateway community,

Thank you for your feedback on the recently announced closure of the platform. It is our goal to conduct the process of closing Nifty Gateway in a smooth and orderly way and that all of our customers are able to move their NFTs…
The platform is also developing a bulk withdrawal tool to help in the transition. The new tool will be available soon, and users with multiple NFTs can transfer their assets easily without encountering issues. It has also been made clear that the company will assist customers who need further help migrating their NFTs after the official deadline.
What’s Next for Nifty Gateway Users?
Nifty Gateway has assured the long-term hosting of metadata on its servers for holders of NFTs produced before 2021, ensuring that users’ assets will not be lost. This will help address the issue of the NFTs being created before the platform’s own platformization.
Despite the closure, the company has reassured the community that all users will be able to maintain access to their NFTs in perpetuity, provided they follow the necessary steps before the deadline. The seamless transition is associated with customer satisfaction, underscoring the company’s effort to please its customers even during such a change.
With April 2026 as the deadline, Nifty Gateway should strive to simplify the process of closing down for its regular patrons. The transfer of the NFTs to decentralized storage will ensure their value and accessibility are not lost when the platform is closed. Users are advised to exploit the tools and services provided by Nifty Gateway to protect their digital belongings as time runs out.
