The company revealed more information about it through a livestream with key contributors from Mysten Labs, which explained how blockchain tools can be utilized for real-world advertising. The co-founders of Alkimi, Ben Putley and Chandru Narayanan, appeared alongside Roberto Beltramini and Abhinav Garg, the leaders of Mysten Labs, and explained why they had decided to go down this path.
The focus remained on existing business failures, as opposed to theory. The process of online advertising is like a background process running on every website and app. An auction occurs every time a page is loaded. Advertisers bid, publishers earn, and middlemen collect fees.
Alkimi Uses Sui to Reduce Ad Payment Delays
Alkimi processes between 15 and 25 million ad impressions daily. Each ad impression results in large volumes of sensitive information. There is a need for teams to monitor the rules, fraud, and payment conditions. There is also a need for the finance department to monitor the results, especially with partners who do not trust each other.
Making the payments can take weeks. This has led to increased costs. There are profits for verification companies, verifying information that needs to be trustworthy. Trust is fragmented. Alkimi was founded to solve the problem. It considered many platforms before choosing Sui.
Alkimi chose Sui for practical reasons. Sui Stack has tools that can be easily mapped to enterprise requirements. Walrus has the capability for large-scale data storage. Seal has the capability for controlled access for regulated data. Nautilus has the capability for verifiable offchain computation. zkLogin has the capability for simple identity association with wallets.
Alkimi Builds a Full Enterprise Advertising System
Alkimi doesn’t depend on a solitary layer. It builds a whole enterprise stack. Alkimi currently supports agentic media buying. Agents can settle, execute, and even negotiate ad deals in real time. However, this poses a problem because of the lack of shared truth.
This problem only becomes worse with the proliferation of automated systems. A shared ledger eliminates this problem. All transactions are recorded on the blockchain. Sui enables the movement of data and value at the same time. Reconciliation takes place immediately rather than weeks after. Alkimi also intends to create an AdFi liquidity pool.
Publishers might gain access to capital sooner because of this. Advertising expenditure becomes a yield source. It’s a chance to change the way capital circulates through a global marketplace that’s valued at almost 750 billion dollars. Alkimi’s solution now becomes a template for enterprise applications that call for scale, privacy, and trust.
