Tether and Bitqik have announced a strategic initiative to strengthen financial literacy in Laos, with a focus on Bitcoin and stablecoins. The effort links the world’s largest digital asset company with a licensed local exchange that already serves Lao users.
Their goal is to develop knowledge, trust, and participation within the digital economy. Tether is a major component within the digital finance industry with USD₮, the leading stablecoin. Bitqik is a digital asset exchange that operates as a licensed business within Laos.
It provides brokerage services and trading that enable users to easily send and receive cryptocurrency. The platform believes in the concept that digital currencies can transform the global economy. It believes that digital currencies can act as instruments for financial freedom and innovation. These opinions are in large part in line with what Tether is trying to accomplish in general.

However, in a bid for blockchain technology to be adopted, Bitqik will educate the Laotian market about the importance of USD₮ and stablecoins. This will ensure that the community understands the concept of stablecoins.
It will also touch on their uses in cross-border payments and savings as well as e-commerce. This is all about trust and understanding. The reason for this event is to ensure the understanding of both sides: the benefits and the responsibilities. The event is geared towards communities, students, and entrepreneurs wanting to learn more about stablecoins.
This is because it promotes the use of USD₮ as a trustworthy e-currency that will be applied in every financial transaction in the Lao financial system. Such a program links theory and practice since it is based on e-currency application.
Bitqik Launches Blockchain Education Program in Laos
There will also be Bitqik learning content for school-going children and new members. This will enable the company to reach out to its customers on a quarterly basis in major cities. Some of the major cities listed include Vientiane, Pakse, Vang Vieng, and Luang Prabang.
Acquisition of skills for engagement in the digital economy would take place. Seminars/road shows would form the core of the outreach program. The targeted number of people who would be made aware of this program is over 10,000.
This initiative is also meant to raise awareness of the existence of the USD₮ as a reputable stablecoin in Laos. The events will also continue into 2026. This is the start of grassroots education regarding digital finance.
