According to the announcement, Tether has expanded its collaboration with INHOPE to support global efforts against child sexual abuse material. The company leads the digital asset ecosystem and now deepens its role in online safety.
It is designed to protect children, coordinate efforts, and build response systems globally. INHOPE is a global network of hotlines that receive reports from members of society regarding illegal content online.
The network has fifty-seven hotlines in fifty-two countries. They work with the police, the regulators, the technology industry, and civil society organizations to identify the harmful content, support the victims, and push for the removal of the content in a timely manner. They promote accountability through shared principles and training.
Tether Provides Long-Term Funding for Hotline Operations
At the moment, Tether acts as a diamond-level collaborator in the INHOPE organization. The organization also receives financial support from the company. This form of support is essential in helping the organization plan. This helps the organization move away from a short-term approach.
It also improves hotline capacity by enhancing reporting tool capability. Lastly, funding is required to speed up takedown operations globally. Such funding enables teams to invest in robust systems to support safe sharing and trusted interactions to combat risks that emerge.
As a result of this stable support system, the network will be able to develop a plan to implement proven methods. There will also be a reduction in the time taken to report, review, and remove. There will also be direct engagement with INHOPE members as part of the collaboration. There is also the involvement in expert forums and meetings globally.
