- XRP Ledger upgrades enhance AMM reliability, NFT security, and payments.
- Validators approve major updates, ensuring smooth operations across the network.
- RippleX clarifies XLS standards, simplifying feature adoption for developers.
The XRP community responded with interest when three major upgrades were implemented to the XRP Ledger on mainnet. According to blockchain explorer XRPscan, these amendments are paramount to building stability and ensuring blockchain security.
The amendments took effect following a 14-day grace period during which they received an 80% vote of approval from validators. This may pose a risk to older nodes if they’re not running the latest version of software.

Automated Market Maker System Strengthened
One of the major improvements focuses on the Automated Market Maker (AMM) system, which is a crucial component of the network. Update to improve AMM functionality: Using Fortified Resources Tools, Security Lab has introduced more thorough testing to ensure AMMs function as originally designed and reduce the possibility of errors.
Also, accounts for rounding deposits and withdrawals are created to ensure accurate balances are provided and user funds are protected. These changes introduce a layer of reliability, providing you with a safer and more predictable trading experience.
There were also bright updates to the NFT system in terms of security and fee management. Issuers of NFTs had previously been at risk of unknowingly trading equivalents of unsupported strings as a fungible transfer fee, and thus, the potential for disruptions.
Upon synchronization, trustlines that are not properly authorized are unprotected, and trade-enabling fees are charged only on properly authorized trustlines. This amendment institutes a new set of principles of integrity in NFT transactions—sometimes contrary to everyday life, the “invisible hand”—and reduces risk throughout the ecosystem.
Amendments fixAMMv1_3, fixEnforceNFTokenTrustlineV2 and fixPayChanCancelAfter have been activated on the mainnet. With their activation, all rippled nodes running v2.4.0 and below are amendment blocked. Upgrade now!: https://t.co/MJJuIYP903 https://t.co/mnjOcUdQSa

Prisma payment channels were improved so they can’t crash anymore because of invalid “CancelAfter” hours. In previous versions, it was possible to create channels with CancelAfter equal to a prior value, and such channels would become outdated automatically.
Added to the new update is the ability to create only channels for valid channels that contain valid timelines. Hence, not only does payment flow smoothly, but the network is less prone to outages.
RippleX Works to Simplify Standards
In addition, RippleX is making it clear to developers and the community what the XRP Ledger Standards (XLS) process looked like. The request is for a description of the life cycle design of XLS, which in turn shall make it more advisable to adopt new features and implement them more easily.
This approach will, in turn, deliver on the complexity of the process of standardization and enhance the entire ecosystem. When combined, these additions make the XRP Ledger network secure, reliable, and high-performance. These innovations have the power to smooth the user experience, reduce its risks, and improve the security of transactions.
