- XLS-85 enables XRP Ledger to support stablecoins and institutional-grade multi-purpose tokens.
- XLS-56 reduces transaction failure by allowing up to eight operations in a single wrapper transaction.
- New protections block NFT spam and prevent creation of unusable payment channels on the network.
RippleX has officially launched XRP Ledger version 2.5.0, bringing a new wave of network enhancements. This recent release permanently adds a variety of functions with significant effects, as well as bugs, to enhance performance, efficiency, and security all around the ledger.
One of the release’s essential milestones is the amendment of the XLS-85, which the validators can vote on. This amendment extends escrow capabilities to third-party tokens, such as stablecoins minted in the network.
This amendment also makes multi-purpose tokens for higher institutional purposes possible. These enhancements make the XRP Ledger much more useful than conventional XRP applications.
The other necessary amendment is XLS-56, which dealt with the problem of failed transaction flows. With this change, up to eight independent operations can be wrapped up within a single operation.
Under the existing conditions, about 30 percent of transactions that involve more than one step within the network fail. This amendment aims to reduce such failures through enhanced transaction coordination and processing reliability.
XLS-85 and XLS-56 were created by a core contributor (Denis Angell), a recognizable contributor in the XRPL community. Before Xahau, he worked on the Xahau sidechain, making his role more evident in the ecosystem.
New Features Focus on Transaction Security and Network Control
Besides these, XLS-81 brings permissioned decentralized exchanges to trading environments that are secure and comply with policies. XLS-75 allows permission delegation by enabling the user to give bounded access to the transaction rights without losing any level of security.
The release also introduces major critical bug fixes to enhance system integrity. With the update, there will be tight, invariant checks on automated market maker transactions to guard against wilful breaches of core network rules.
New safeguards require a user to authorize any contact with NFT before the latter is processed. This eliminates undesirable spam and increases user confidence in the interaction with digital collectibles on the ledger.
Another remedy prevents the establishment of unusable or deceptive payment channels, both inadvertently and willfully. This will avoid waste of data congesting the network and enhance the entire payment system.
Version 2.5.0 of RippleX features some powerful new features that may change the capabilities of the XRP Ledger. These features also solve some of the most pressing problems and introduce new opportunities to both institutional and retail users.
