This wasn’t just a routine meeting; it was a high-stakes engineering sprint focused on “Glamsterdam,” the next major evolution of the network.
The most striking outcome is the official target of a 200M gas limit floor. This figure represents a major expansion of Ethereum’s data capacity. Analysts point out that this milestone is made possible by a trio of technical advances.
First, the team stabilized “ePBS,” a system that allows external builders to create blocks more safely. Second, they finalized EIP-8037, which sets a fixed cost for state data. Finally, the “BAL” optimizations have matured enough to handle the increased load.
The Svalbard Handover Scaling High Throughput Ethereum
With the week coming to an end. The developers could test their rules out with the creation of a test network for multiple clients called “bal-devnet-6,” showing once again that the vision of Ethereum throughput is coming true.
