  • Ripple used RLUSD to distribute most of its $25M education donation across U.S. schools.
  • DonorsChoose received $15M, supporting over 48,108 classroom projects nationwide.
  • Teach For America funding reached 2,300 teachers and 270,600 students with resources.

Ripple has reported the impact of its $25 million education initiative across the United States. The program supported classrooms, teachers, and financial literacy work through nonprofit partners and used RLUSD for most of the funding distribution.

As per a report, the company launched the initiative during Teacher Appreciation Week last year. It worked with DonorsChoose and Teach For America to direct funds to schools and education programs.

Ripple described the effort as one of the largest nonprofit donations powered by a stablecoin. The company said the goal was to improve classroom resources and expand access to financial education. A major share of the funding went to DonorsChoose. Ripple allocated $15 million to the nonprofit platform.

Ripple Supports 48,108 Classroom Projects Nationwide

That funding supported more than 48,108 classroom projects across all 50 U.S. states. Teachers used the grants to request books, science kits, classroom furniture, technology tools, and other learning materials.

Ripple said most of the supported schools served low-income communities. According to the figures shared by the company, 86% of the funded projects were in low-income schools.

Ripple employees also joined the program through DonorsChoose. They donated classroom grants that supported hundreds of additional schools and teachers.

The company said the initiative showed the value of sending resources directly to classrooms. It said the impact came when teachers received needed supplies at the right time.

Ripple also donated $10 million to Teach For America. The financial support was provided for the new teachers in the under-served schools.

RLUSD Supports Ripple’s Large-Scale Education Donations

Ripple said that the collaboration resulted in stipends for 2,300 teachers. It also impacted over 141,000 students via first-year teaching programs.

The company said financial literacy resources reached about 270,600 students. The materials were a component of the broader trend of education related to modern finance.

The collaboration also introduced blockchain-related bootcamps in U.S. high schools. Ripple noted that the sessions were an introduction to digital assets, blockchain infrastructure, and financial systems.

The education program is in conjunction with its broader efforts to promote financial literacy, Ripple said. The company tied the program in with its work on financial opportunity and inclusion.

Ripple also pointed out that RLUSD is going to be used as part of the donation process. It said that the U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin enabled “large-scale charitable distribution.”

The development is a move that reflects the growing adoption of stablecoins in payments, remittances, treasury management, and tokenized finance. Ripple has explained that the program highlights the potential of blockchain technology for education funding and social impact.
